The Paid Substack System: A Complete Course
One year. £42,000. Everything I learned about building a sustainable publication in a landscape designed to bury you.
Whether you are starting from zero or staring at a subscriber count that has not moved in months, the problem is the same: most Substack advice does not work.
Vague platitudes about “finding your voice.” Growth hacks that stopped working before you tried them. Success stories from creators who built their audience elsewhere and brought it with them. None of it addresses why your posts get twelve views, why paid conversions sit at zero, or why the platform feels rigged against anyone starting without an existing following.
This course exists because I could not find what I needed. So I built it.
What This Course Actually Is
Over the past twelve months, I invested £42,000 investigating how Substack functions within today’s fractured platform landscape. Not just Substack in isolation, but how it connects to Facebook (where organic reach has collapsed to 1.37%), Instagram (down 18% year on year), Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube, and the email deliverability systems that determine whether your writing ever reaches anyone.
The result is 16 modules. 130,000 words. Every system documented with evidence-based benchmarks and realistic timelines.
No hype. No promises of overnight success. No screenshots of subscriber counts presented without context.
Just the operational mechanics of building something sustainable on one of the few platforms that still lets writers own their audience.
What Makes This Different
Evidence over anecdote. When I tell you what conversion rates to expect, those numbers come from documented research across the platform, not cherry-picked success stories.
Realistic timelines. You will find specific benchmarks for what three months, six months, and twelve months of consistent work actually produces. These are based on median outcomes, not outliers.
Platform mechanics, not motivational content. Module 9 documents the organic reach collapse across every major social platform with specific data. Module 11 walks through Google Search Console setup via Tag Manager. Module 14 covers pricing psychology with actual conversion research. This is operational infrastructure, not inspiration.
The algorithms explained. How Substack’s recommendation system works. Why email deliverability matters more than subscriber count. What the 40% recommendation figure actually means and how to position for it.
The 16 Modules
The course works whether you are setting up fresh or auditing an existing publication. Beginners follow it sequentially. If you already have a Substack, jump to the modules covering what is not working.

The Price
£59.99 for the complete course.
Select the yearly subscription option at checkout. You get immediate access to all 16 modules. In December 2026, a full course update will be released ready for 2027 - platforms change, algorithms shift, and subscribers at that time receive the updated material.
Most Substack courses charge $500 to $2,000 and then upsell you into coaching programmes. This one does not. The price reflects what I would have paid for this information twelve months ago: enough to signal value, accessible enough that price is not the barrier.
No coaching upsells. No community fees. No drip-fed content designed to keep you paying monthly.
You get all 16 modules immediately upon subscription.
If you work through this material and implement the systems, this course becomes a priceless asset. 2026 will be a year of significant change for independent creators, and those who invest the time now will be positioned to benefit from it.
Why This Matters Beyond the Mechanics
This course teaches systematic Substack growth and serves a larger purpose: preserving authentic writing and genuine discourse in an era where AI-generated homogenisation erodes language faster than we speak it.
Module 6 addresses this directly. It draws on peer-reviewed research into linguistic homogenisation, documenting ten specific formulaic patterns that identify AI-generated content and teaching you how to eliminate them from your writing. The goal is preserving the authentic voice that makes your work worth reading.
The platform investigation reports throughout this course document the structural conditions writers now face: algorithmic suppression, collapsing organic reach, and an internet increasingly flooded with interchangeable AI content. Substack remains one of the few platforms where original thought can still find an audience without algorithmic interference.
Every creator who builds a sustainable Substack becomes a node of resistance against formulaic content. Every paid subscriber voting with their wallet validates that original thought still has value.
You are not just building a newsletter. You are maintaining cultural infrastructure that matters.
This course gives you the technical systems to succeed. The real outcome is protecting the kind of writing that makes Substack worth existing in the first place.

I find myself ditching the paywalled publications. And stick to the ones that are free.
The paywalled gardens only create a culture of yes-men who never disagree. These bubbles of fakeness dont have any real value to me, only a few journalist with big stories i keep eventhough they are behind a wall.
I wish the wall didnt defeat its purose.
And that paid subscriptions wouldnt exfiltrate my Euros into 'dollhairs'.
Netherlands first baby! :~)
Dont get me wrong, im not against Substack, yet im also not so much for it..
Additionally the new livestreaming upgrade raises questions as it will most likely turn substack into a streaming platform that must compete with the AI driven surveillance machines. I hope im going to be proven wrong. Time will tell.
